Join Islamic Relief Canada on an epic multi-day hiking, biking, and kayaking adventure Cape Breton, as you challenge your limits.

Reach New Limits

Immerse yourself in the landscapes and adventures of Cape Breton Island, named #1 Island in the Americas by Condé Nast Traveler in 2020. Grab your hiking boots and trek the mesmerizing scenic trails of Cape Breton Highlands National Park, and gear up for the most scenic bike ride of your life along the shore, for a once in a lifetime adventure in Cape Breton Island.

Between June 22 – 27, you will get the full experience of hiking various trails in the Cape Breton Highlands National Park, as our itinerary will be jam packed with hiking, biking, and kayaking, all to provide the most vulnerable with Water For Life. Be prepared for a trip of a lifetime!

Help Provide Water for Life

Through the Nova Scotia Challenge, you will support the water for life project! All participants will receive an email with a link to their personal crowdfunding page. Your goal is to raise $2,000!

All money raised by participants will go directly towards our Water4Life campaign.

What will Islamic Relief Canada cover?

  • Transportation from Halifax to/from Cape Breton
  • 4 Nights Accommodation

What will I (you) have to cover?

  • Transportation to/from Halifax (flight, car, etc)
  • 1 Meal/Day (Lunch)

  • Medical Expenses (Travel Insurance is highly recommended)
  • Hiking Equipment (boots, poles)

Itinerary

  • Arrive to Halifax
  • Arranged Pickup at Halifax Stanfield International Airport
  • Drive to Cape Breton
  • Bike: The Ceilidh Coastal and Celtic Shores Coastal Trail (83km; easy – flat trail)
  • West Mabou Beach Provincial Park
  • Inverness Beach
  • Hike: Fishing Cove (355m elevation; 12KM)
  • Hike: Skyline Trail at Cape Bretons Highlands National Park (290-405m ;6.5KM)
  • Biking: Cabot Trail from Chéticamp to Dingwall (443m elevation; 75km)
  • Hike: Franey Trail (95 – 430 m; 7.4 KM)
  • Kayaking: Northern Cape Breton
  • Departure from Cape Breton to Halifax
  • Arranged Airport Drop-Off to Halifax Stanfield International Airport

*Please note that all activities are pre-planned, but may be subject to change due to weather or unforeseen circumstances.

Sign Up Eligibility

  • Age: 18 years or older
  • Vaccination Status: Double Vaccinated
  • Physically fit (able to bike, and hike long hours)
  • No serious medical/health conditions that could affect the well-being (ie. physical injuries, heart condition, pregnancy) *Consult with your doctor prior to signing up
  • All participants must raise 75% of fundraising goal ($2,000) prior to June 22nd, 2022

Refund Policy

  • Refund requests for deposit payments will be accepted until May 23, 2022
  • Deposit payments will be fully refunded
  • After May 23, 2022 deposit payments are non-refundable
