The kits include jackets, sweaters, blankets, gloves, hats, socks, soap, shampoo, sanitary pads, masks, sanitizer and other essentials. “It’s been a difficult few years because of the pandemic, which has pushed even more Canadians onto the streets,” says Reyhana Patel, head of communications and government relations. “We want them to know we care and are here to support them. The hope is that the winter essentials will help them stay warm and healthy.”
**Media members are invited to attend the assembly of winter kits today, Tuesday, December 21 at the Pakistan Canada Association Edmonton (9226 39 Ave NW) from 6 pm to 8 pm. An Islamic Relief spokesperson will be available for interviews.**
The kits will be given to Nisa Homes, Bissell Centre, Mustard Seed, Hope Mission, and Boyle Street Community Services for distribution. To confirm your attendance or any other media requests, please contact Reyhana Patel, head of communications and government relations, at (647) 200 4662 or [email protected]
